In Against a Crooked Sky, a color remake of the classic John Ford western, The Searchers, Richard Boone (Have Gun, Will Travel) gives one of the best performances of hi slong career. Boone plays the part of a Russian, an aging trapper recruited to help rescue a teenage girl from a band of Native Americans holding her hostage in the wilds of Utah's vast wilderness. The Indian, Temkai (Geoffrey Land), has adbucted Molly Sutter (Shannon Farnon) and Molly's brother Sam (Stewart Petersen) embarks on a perilous mission to save her, with the help of Russian. Henry Wilcoxon is Chief Cut Tongue, a ruthless, yet honorable Indian, and the rest of the fine cast includes Jewel Blanch and Brenda Venus as the other Sutter children.
