THE JACKALS, set in 19th century South Africa, stars Vincent Price (Edward Scissorhands) in an adaptation of Yellow Sky penned by screenwriter W.R. Burnett (The Great Escape, High Sierra). Price plays Oupa Decker, a canny miner bent on protecting his gold from a ruthless gang of bandits, with the help of his daughter Wilhelmina Decker (Diana Ivarson), who is not only beautiful but also handy with a pistol. Action packed and exotic, with beautiful scenery and great dialogue, The Jackals paints a vivid picture of Africa's version of the Wild West. As the bandits close in on Decker's gold, the leader of the bandits, "Stretch" Hawkins (Robert Gunner; Planet of the Apes), falls for the fair-haired maiden, and in doing so reveals a heart of gold.
