The Adventures of Kit Carson was one of the more popular of the many Wild West adventure series to be released during the 1950's. It followed the exciting life of rugged frontiersman Kit Carson and his Mexican friend, El Toro, as they roamed the southwest righting wrongs and bringing outlaws to justice.
Kit Carson was played by Bill Williams who started his career on the TV show Date With The Angels before moving on to Adventures of Kit Carson. He would later make a name for himself as a great character actor appearing on such hit shows as Adam-12, Batman, Gunsmoke, Lassie and Perry Mason.
Don Diamond, who Kit's loyal Mexican sidekick El Toro, was actually of Russian/American ancestry. White stationed in the Southwest during his time with the United States Air Corps, Diamond learned Spanish and became interested in Mexican culture. After his stint in the military, he broke into radio and became known for his portrayal of mexicans which eventually lead to his role as El Toro on Adventures of Kit Carson. He would go on to appear in many TV shows, most notably as Corporal Reyes on Zorro and Crazy Cat on F Troop.
