Korea is often called America's forgotten war,
yet history tells us that almost 150,000 American
servicemen were either killed or wounded during
this "police action."

In this collection of newsreels and U.S. Government
footage, you will relive America's experiences in
Korea from the earliest days of intervention in 1950
to the signing of Armistice in 1953.

As WWII drew to a close, the victorious nations who had united to defeat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan were ramping up what would become the Cold War, an idea logical struggle of Communism versus Capitalism. The two leading major powers, the Soviet Union and the United States, oversaw a literal redrawing of the world's political boundaries at war's end. Divided by the U.S. and the USSR after WWII, the Korean Peninsula was to become a focal point of that struggle.

Disc 1

Backed by the Soviet Union, North Korea struck deep into South Korea in 1950, prompting action by the United Nations and the USA. President Harry Truman, ordered the US Army to supply munitions to the ROK and to evacuate American Citizens from South Korea. Truman then ordered the US Navy and Air Force to stem the DPRK advance. This action packed DVD, with historical footage and interviews with veterans of the Korean War, takes you inside the beginning of that struggle, from Task Force Smith, to the epic battle of Pusan, and General Douglas McArthur's Inchon Invasion, setting the stage for the Red Chinese Army to cross the Yalu River into Korea.

Disc 2

In late summer of 1950, following North Korea's invasion of South Korea, the United Nations and the USA entered the fray. After General Douglas McArthur's bold Inchon Invasion, forcing the North back to the 38th Parallel, the stage was set for Red China to enter the war, who routed the outnumbered UN forces, forcing one of the longest retreats in American military history and a stand off that would last more than fifty years. This action packed DVD, with historical footage and interviews with veterans of the Korean War, recounts the heroic actions of the American and UN forces during that retreat, including the withdrawal from Chosin and America's return to Seoul after the dismissal of America's most decorated General, Douglas McArthur.

For the remainder of the war, UN and American forces fought a holding action on the 38th Parallel with the North Koreans and their allies, the Red Chinese and it became, for many, the Forgotten War.
