It is the last week of summer vacation and the beginning of an amazing adventure for a group of kids challenged by a rival gang of bullies for control of the forest.
After stumbling upon an ancient myth about a treasure entombed inside a sacred Indian burial mound, the kids discover that two, not-so-smart thieves are intent on finding the gold for themselves.
Along the way, the caretaker of the forest, a wise Native American man, teaches the kids a few lessons about themselves, how to deal with bullies and how to appreciate the real treasures around them.
In the end, when one of them is injured, the kids realize that fighting each other is not worth it. It is clear that the forest was not meant to be owned or controlled by anyone. It was just like the wise Native American man told them; "The earth was meant to be shared by all living creatures, even the bullies."
The Treasure of Painted Forest is lighthearted fun that will appeal to everyone.
